Bathroom storage for small and family bathrooms

Valuhub's bathroom storage collection keeps towels, toiletries and laundry off the counter and the floor. It brings together tall storage towers, wall cabinets, laundry hampers and towel racks. Freestanding towers with adjustable shelves are the largest group, followed by wall-mounted and mirror units.

Valuhub Canada built this range for small bathrooms, powder rooms and busy family baths where every centimetre counts. Pick one tall tower, or mix a wall cabinet, a hamper and a towel rack. Shoppers furnishing the rest of the home can also browse our home furnishings.

Types of bathroom storage in this collection

The range falls into five groups. Each group solves a different space problem in the bathroom.

Freestanding storage towers

Freestanding storage towers are tall floor units. They hold towels, spare rolls and toiletries behind doors or on open shelves. Most have adjustable shelves, and many add one or two drawers. Tall models stand about 63 to 72 in (160 to 183 cm) high. The slimmest take up only 11.8 in (30 cm) of wall. For more closed units, see our bathroom cabinets.

Wall-mounted and mirror units

Wall-mounted units lift storage off the floor, which keeps a small room easier to clean. Many have adjustable shelves behind one, two or three doors. Mirror units add a reflective front, and some include LED lighting. They suit shallow spaces above a sink or beside a door. Our medicine cabinets page lists the full mirror range.

Over-the-toilet shelving

Over-the-toilet shelving uses the unused space above the tank. These units pair open shelves with a closed cupboard, and several include an adjustable shelf. Some add a toilet paper holder. Measure the tank height and the space width first. The frame must clear the flush handle and lid.

Laundry hampers and tilt-out units

A laundry hamper cabinet hides laundry behind a front panel that swings open. Most have two removable baskets, and some add a drawer or shelves. Bamboo hampers with drawstring bags suit rooms with more floor space. Shoppers who sort laundry will also like our tilt-out laundry hampers.

Towel racks and warmers

A towel rack keeps towels dry and within reach. The range includes wall-mounted racks and heated towel racks, also called a towel warmer, with 8 or 10 bars. The heated models have a timer and plug in. Browse more bath accessories for hooks, holders and extras.

How do you choose storage for a small bathroom?

Measure before you shop

Measure the width, depth and height of the space, including the door swing. Leave about 60 cm (24 in) of clear floor in front of a freestanding unit. Doors then open fully.

Match the style to your floor space

A slim tower suits a free corner. A wall-mounted unit suits a room where the floor must stay clear. Over-the-toilet shelving suits the space above the tank, so it adds storage without using floor space.

Check the shelf layout

Adjustable shelves let you fit tall bottles on one level and stacked towels on another. Allow about 25 cm (10 in) between shelves for large bottles. Drawers keep small items from rolling around.

Plan for humidity and stability

Bathrooms are damp, so wipe-clean finishes help. Leave a gap for air around damp towels. Anchor tall, narrow units to the wall using the hardware that comes with them, especially in homes with children.

Where does bathroom storage work best?

Small bathrooms and powder rooms gain the most from slim storage. A narrow tower, a wall cabinet or over-the-toilet shelving adds room for towels and spare rolls. None of them crowd the floor. Our bath accessories add hooks and holders to finish the layout.

Family bathrooms need more space for toiletries, towels and laundry. A taller tower with drawers keeps each person's items sorted, and a tilt-out hamper hides the laundry pile. Planning a safer bath for older family members? See our shower and bath chairs and bathroom safety range.

Laundry rooms, entryways and hallways use the same pieces. Many listings in this collection mention living room, entryway or laundry room use. A tall tower with doors works as a linen cupboard, and a narrow unit fits beside a washer.

How do you set up and care for bathroom furniture?

Bathroom furniture lasts longer when it is set up with care. Follow the assembly guide, tighten the fittings once more after a week, and keep heavy items on lower shelves. Wipe up splashes quickly with a soft cloth. Run the fan after showers so damp air does not linger.

Bathroom organizer FAQs

How do you choose storage for a very small space?

Measure the space first, then pick the style that keeps the floor clear. Wall-mounted units and over-the-toilet shelving add storage without taking floor space. A slim tower fits a spare corner. Choose adjustable shelves so the layout can change as your needs do.

What is the best bathroom organizer for towels and toiletries?

A tall storage tower with doors, drawers and adjustable shelves holds the most. Use the top shelves for towels and the drawers for small items. A wall cabinet with a mirror front works well for daily toiletries.

How wide is a slim storage tower?

Narrow towers in this range start at about 11.8 in (30 cm) wide. Many sit between 13 and 24 in (33 to 61 cm). Tall models stand 63 to 72 in (160 to 183 cm). Check each product page for the exact size.

Can bathroom shelves handle a humid room?

Bathrooms are damp, so look for wipe-clean finishes and leave space for airflow. Run the fan after showers and dry wet towels before you store them. Check each product page for care notes and load limits.

Should tall bathroom storage be anchored to the wall?

Yes, anchoring is a good safety habit for tall, narrow units, especially around children. Use the fittings and instructions that come with the product. Place heavy items on lower shelves to keep the unit stable.

What is the difference between a towel rack and a towel warmer?

A towel rack holds towels so they dry in the air. A heated towel rack, also sold as a towel warmer, plugs in and warms the bars. Heated models in this range include a timer. Check each product page for power details.
